Description

F:X Pro magnetic Soft GND8 circular filter Mark II from Rollei

Magnetic Circular Soft GND8 Graduated ND Filter

With the F:X Pro Magnetic Soft GND8 Filter Mark II, we now offer the round Soft GND8 graduated ND filter as a magnetic version. GND stands for graduated neutral density. Just like the screw-in circular filter or the F:X Pro Soft GND8 rectangular filter, the magnetic version has a soft transition gradient that can be used to compensate for differences in brightness in the image. With the F:X Pro Magnetic Soft GND8 Filter Mark II, this is adjusted via the axis of rotation. And because the filter is magnetically attached to the lens, it's enough to simply rotate the filter. An extra rotating thread on the filter is no longer necessary.

Depending on the lens diameter, the filter is mounted using the F:X Pro Magnetic Base Ring Mark II or one of the F:X Pro Magnetic Step-Up Rings Mark II.

The F:X Pro Magnetic Soft GND8 Filter Mark II is available in diameters 62, 67, 72, 77, and 82 mm.

When are graduated ND filters needed?

Unlike normal ND filters, Soft GND filters are used for subjects where brightness conditions have a gradient and therefore require a soft transition for a evenly exposed image. An ideal application for a Soft GND would be a mountain landscape, for example, where the lighting conditions cause the foreground of the image to appear darker than the background – but the horizon line is not particularly clearly defined. A soft graduated ND filter can wonderfully compensate for such a scenario.

Our Soft GND8 has a density of 0.9 and an aperture value of 3 stops. One stop means that the amount of light falling on the sensor is reduced by one aperture stop each time.

Circular filter extension options

The F:X Pro Magnetic Soft GND8 Filter Mark II can be easily combined with our other magnetic filters from the F:X Pro Magnetic Circular Filters Mark II series. Due to its two magnetic sides, it can be easily attached to the separately available magnetic base ring or a magnetic step-up ring, and another filter can be added. It is also quickly stowed away if not needed. For this, the filter can simply be connected to another filter from the F:X Pro Magnetic Circular Filters Mark II series via the magnets and sealed with the optionally available F:X Pro Magnetic End Cap Mark II and F:X Pro Magnetic Front Cap Mark II.

Discover the entire magnetic filter range

By the way: You can also simply leave the magnetic base ring or magnetic step-up ring mounted on your lens. The F:X Pro Magnetic Front Cap Mark II can then be used as a lens cap. To transport the magnetic filters well protected, we recommend an additional F:X Pro Magnetic Front Cap Mark II. This way, your magnetic filters remain well packed, while you can use them even faster: Remove the front cap from the lens, attach the magnetic filter, and you're ready to go.

With our F:X Pro Magnetic Step-Up Rings Mark II, the magnetic filters with 82 mm diameter can be easily mounted on filter threads with a smaller diameter of 62, 67, 72, or 77 mm. If you own several lenses with different diameters, we recommend purchasing magnetic filters with a diameter of 82 mm and corresponding step-up rings in the diameters of your lenses. This way, you can quickly and easily use all lenses with the magnetic filters.

Magnetic Circular Filter Rollei

The F:X Pro magnetic circular filter series

Like all filters in the F:X Pro series, we have also equipped the F:X Pro Magnetic Soft GND8 Filter Mark II with our specially developed F:X Pro Coating, which ensures that your images are always razor-sharp, even with extremely high-resolution cameras with 150 megapixels. The reflection-free quality of our F:X Pro filters is 99.5 percent. With these filters, you get exemplary color fidelity – and reproduce your subject true to nature.

To provide you with products that you will enjoy for a long time, our filters are made of premium filter glass. Thanks to a special manufacturing process, it is legendarily resistant and at the same time guarantees extremely high light transmission and color neutrality. Our anti-scratch layer gives the filter glass its final hardness against mechanical influences and ensures that dirt from grease, water, or mud can be removed quickly and effortlessly.

But our filters are not only scratch-resistant – they are also temperature-resistant. We have tested this under the highest quality standards in scorching heat and biting cold. In short: These are the best filters we have ever built.

The magnetic circular filter can be easily attached to the lens via a step-up ring or a base ringDepicted base ring not included!

For mounting the F:X Pro Magnetic Circular Filters Mark II on the lens, the F:X Pro Magnetic Base Ring Mark II or an F:X Pro Magnetic Step-Up Ring Mark II is required.
